Staphylococcus sp. Vaccines

Staphylococcus sp. vaccines for pigs

Greasy Pig disease is caused by the bacterium Staphylococcus hyicus and Staphylococcus aureus which lives normally on the skin without causing disease. It is not know why sometimes it flares up and causes dermatitis which oozes greasy fluid. These bacteria can produce toxins which damage the liver and kidneys. Autogenous vaccines are derived from the bacterial strains isolated from pigs at the target site, they have the potential to induce potent immune response against the relevant bacterial strain.
